Palan Foundation supported BAPS charities where a collection of winter clothing and food for homeless was carried out on 15 December 2018 as a part of its ongoing commitment to serve needy in the local community.
A variety of warm clothes including jumpers, jackets, and trousers were collected and a large collection of tinned food was deposited at the Swaminarayan School opposite Mandir.
More than 3000 garments were collected and donated to Crisis, the national charity for homeless people and 600 cans were delivered to three food banks- Brent Foodbank, Wembley Foodbank and the Salvation Army in Harlesden.
Kesh Morjaria, a lead volunteer for BAPS Charities, shared, “Being homeless brings many tough challenges but at this time of the year, it is particularly saddening. We hope that the clothes and food can provide some warmth and comfort to those without a roof over their heads.”
