Kamu Palan

Kamu Palan is the Chief Financial Officer of the Golden Tours travel company which she co-founded with her husband Nitin Palan MBE. Employing more than 200 staff in the UK and India, Golden Tours is synonymous with the blue tourist busses in the heart of London.

Born in Tanzania, East Africa, she is an accountant by profession and a yoga instructor who travels regularly around the UK and the Indian sub-continent to fulfil philanthropic and teaching duties and campaign for better community relations. She sits on the Board of the company’s charitable arm, the Palan Foundation which supports good causes in the areas of education, health, interfaith and heritage.

Through the Foundation, she has helped support various cultural projects including Diwali in London at Trafalgar Square; the Queen’s Household Division Charities for serving and retired guardsmen of the Division and their families and the Princes Charities through British Asian Trust to fund education. The Foundation has expanded its projects to include heritage. With the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund, the role of Indian soldiers in WW1 has been highlighted as part of the WW1 Centenary Commemorations.
