Palan Foundation is a UK based Trust run by a Gujarati family who practice Hinduism. It is their ambition to help as many disadvantaged children in terms of education so that they become self-sufficient and contributing citizens.
The foundation pays for the tutors and arranges extra evening classes so that they are encouraged to work and get a better lifestyle. In order to protect them from illness, the foundation provides health and hygiene classes. Where possible, it donates computers and arranges for computing courses in local languages. The foundation also provides practical need skill sets such as how to grow food, repair bicycles, repair water pumps, clean shoes, and clean house etc.
The volunteers work continuously to explore the hidden talents in the children and promote them. They believe that they learn from the children as much as the children learn from them.
